Bio
Jennifer Pulido graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Studio art in 2013. She has since been a Science teacher for 6 years, and now a stay at home mom who is learning how to make art with the new pressures of parenthood. Pulido uses found objects, electronics, and her own original paintings to create interactive experiences that are meant to raise questions in the viewers' minds. Her process begins with an absurd yet unanswerable question, such as, "Do flowers have nightmares?" and ends with a device or spiritual machine which allows the viewer to think more deeply about the question. Pulido's work tries to mesh a fun interactive science aesthetic with philosophical thinking, allowing the viewer to play with the piece and have fun, but hopefully leave with a new perspective.
